Architectural Sketches – Keep or Throw Away

I typically don’t give it a lot of thought – as soon as my architectural sketches have served their purpose, they get thrown away. So, keep my sketches or throw them away … I am struggling with that idea. Is this floor plan sketch art? I don’t consider them valuable or even worthwhile to keep.

26.3.2024 Tuesday - finishing an idea

Both were quite received, although that the client slightly preferred mine, for its simplicity in planning (and perhaps the symmetry as well). This morning, I realise soon after I arrive that I do not have the time to sketch the revised site layouts and update the 3D as well. Last week, we presented a housing scheme to our client.

Shades of Grey

The picture in the background is a preliminary sketch for a larger picture. Theoretically a self-help movement in the working class community I grew up in, based primarily on coal mining. The coal mines disappeared completely but "the Coop" lingers on in a very different form. It dates from my early childhood in Barnsley.
