Czech studio Atelier Hajn has transformed a derelict 1970s stone hut into a metal-clad countryside getaway named Skylight Hut with a trapezoidal roof and warm, wood-lined interiors. Its exterior is clad in metal To turn the hut into a spacious home, the studio stripped its interiors and reduced the enveloping stone walls to a height of 2.4-metres.
The vast majority of the home was fabricated off-site at a modular manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania. On site, the local general contractor prepared the site and foundation for the arrival of six prefab modules. Cedar and cement board exterior cladding and ipe decks were then completed on-site.
