RIBA reveals 20-strong longlist for the 2023 House of the Year award

The Royal Institute of British Architects has unveiled the longlist for its annual RIBA House of the Year award. The 20 projects on the longlist will soon be reduced to a six-project-strong shortlist which will be visited by a specialist jury to decide the winner. The award is given each year to the best new one-off house designed by an architect in the United Kingdom.

Helmut Jahn-designed 1000M skyscraper tops out in Chicago

A residential skyscraper designed by the late German-American architect Helmut Jahn has topped out in Chicago 's South Loop. Sited in the city's Historic Michigan Avenue District, the skyscraper reached its final height of 788 feet (240 metres) after construction began in 2019. It sits on the western edge of Grant Park. Designed by architecture studio Jahn , the skyscraper's concrete structure has been completed and work on the glass facade will complete shortly.

Currently under construction at the Burning Man site, the timber structure conceived by designers Ela Madej and Reed Finlay will be called Temple of Heart.
