It’s hard to believe that It’s been four years since the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) released LEED v4, and now, LEED v4.1, announced last November at Greenbuild, will be released by the USGBC later this year. And as I reflect on Greenbuild and the articles that have come out summarizing the changes in v4.1, I wonder how much difference v4.1 is going to make.

Former bank in Alabama becomes modern café

A two-story former Regions and First National Bank building is getting a second life as a modern café in Montgomery, Ala. Vintage Hospitality Group owns the building and spearheaded the transformation. As part of the renovation, the bank building’s terrazzo floors were refurbished and the teller window was transformed into a drive thru. Repurposed safety deposit boxes were used along the front of the counter as an homage to the building’s original function.
