He became a passionate surfer, bobbing in the waves of the Pacific, staring at the land, yet always feeling and hearing the ocean around him; profoundly connected to nature. “I was surfing by the time I was 12 or 13, and it was my driving force probably all the way up to 18 or 19,” he notes.

The 2024 "Frate Sole" International Prize for Sacred Architecture has been awarded to Spanish architect Fernando Menis for his three-year-old Holy Redeemer Church of Las Chumberas in the Spanish Canary Islands town of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Spain. The winner of this year’s AR Public Awards from The Architectural Review has been announced as the Dún Laoghaire Baths from DLR Architects Department and A2 Architects in Ireland.
