The winners of the 2023 Archiproducts Design Awards are out now, with a new ‘Sustainability Award’ and superlative recognition added to honor the singular ‘Designer of the Year’ included in the program’s now eighth overall edition. The list of over 100 winners included designs from architects Mario Botta , Snøhetta , Foster + Partners , BIG , Stefano Boeri , UNStudio , Yabu Pushelberg , and other top-name firms.

Clayco and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill have been selected by electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian to construct a “state-of-the-art EV manufacturing plant” in Stanton Springs, Georgia. The 1,800-acre complex is expected to “contribute significantly to the continued growth and adoption of electric vehicles,” according to Clayco.

Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW) is progressing towards the completion of its new 600 W. 125th Street off-campus Harlem housing project for Columbia University in collaboration with CetraRuddy. Once complete, the 34-story dorm is set to host 142 apartments for graduate students and faculty with another 5,000-square-foot McDonald’s retail location included at the ground level.

Indian studio Blurring Boundaries has used organic forms and natural materials throughout Asmalay, a curvaceous home that wraps around trees in a forest near Mumbai. Nestled within a network of mango trees in Indian coastal town Alibag, the house was designed to showcase the connection between architecture and nature. In response to the surrounding canopy of trees, Blurring Boundaries designed the home to have a curving form, which wraps around five of the existing mango trees on the site.
