Swiss architecture studio Itten+Brechbühl has created a temporary timber university sports hall in Zurich , with aspirations for its demountable construction to be "the new standard in architecture". Shortlisted in the sustainable building category of Dezeen Awards 2024 , Sporthallenprovisorium Gloriarank replaces four sports halls at the University of Zurich with its glued laminated timber (glulam) structure clad in larch timber.

Recently at the Yunnan Museum, I tried to convince the concierge that I'll be turning 60 in 2 weeks. No need. He looked at the year in my passport, and added one more. Turning 60 means many things, I can play in senior veterans squash competitions.

It is a good run, several hills and along the way, I meet Patrick and Yanti waiting for their girls to complete a school road race. During breakfast, I get a call reminding me that squash is ON, so I play squash for an hour.
