Arquitectonica has announced that the long-awaited 8850 Sunset Boulevard development has received approval from the City of West Hollywood. The proposed structure will stand 11 stories tall and feature a 90-room hotel, 78 residences, including 16 affordable units, and commercial spaces on the ground level. A breezeway will weave through the building and connect to a park located at the center of the structure.

Renderings of the next phase of Hudson Yards have been made public by Related Companies along with a construction price tag of $12 billion. This fall at the UT Austin School of Architecture a new exhibition will examine the creativity of Black artists and activist traditions through notable interventions in vernacular architecture from the 1960s to today. Associate Professor Charles L. Davis II is the exhibition’s organizer. He says the examples on display in The Black Home as Public Art "collectively embody decolonial representations of Blackness in a settler colonial context.

Earlier this week, the City of New York released a request for proposals (RFP) to redesign a portion of Park Avenue , between East 46th Street and East 57th Street, by adding greenery, public seating, concessions, and safer crossings for pedestrians. With an existing building on a beautiful site near Friday Harbor on San Juan Island, the Pear Point owner approached PBW to address the building’s connection to the site while configuring the interior spaces for their specific use. Mould is growing on Gaia , a mass-timber business school in Singapore that was completed last year for the Nanyang Technological University by Japanese architect Toyo Ito and Singapore-based studio RSP Architects.
