British multinational design and engineering company behind world-famous buildings such as the Sydney Opera House has confirmed that it was the target of a deepfake scam that led to one of its Hong Kong employees paying out $25 million to fraudsters. A spokesperson for London-based Arup told CNN on Friday that it notified Hong Kong police in January about the fraud incident, and confirmed that fake voices and images were used.

Online design magazine Design Week has been acquired by its web development company Interconnect, saving it from closure. Interconnect purchased the company from its previous owner Xeim , which also runs Marketing Week and Creative Review, after working as Design Week 's service provider since 2015. Arkansas has claimed its first bikeable structure – a ramped office building in Bentonville designed by Michel Rojkind, Callaghan Horiuchi and Marlon Blackwell Architects. Completed at the end of 2022, the 230,000-square foot (21,368-square metre) mixed-use office is known as The Ledger. A collaboration between Mexican architect Michel Rojkind and Arkansas-based studios Callaghan Horiuchi and Marlon Blackwell Architects , the building was "designed to be community-centric".

Japanese studio Keiji Ashizawa Design sourced local materials for the design of Blue Bottle Coffee cafe in Nagoya, Japan, which features tiles across its surfaces and lamps made from pottery plates.
