The tallest building in the US may be built in Oklahoma City following design revision

The team behind the Boardwalk at Bricktown development in Oklahoma City is to request a design variance from city officials which, if granted, would see the project become the tallest building in the United States. Designed by California-based Architects Orange for Matteson Capital, the project contains four towers and spans 5 million square feet, hosting hotels, residential units, and commercial and hospitality functions.

Construction sector will weaken across 2024 and 2025, says AIA

Spending on nonresidential buildings will see a minor 4% increase in 2024 despite a 20% increase in 2023, according to the AIA’s latest Consensus Construction Forecast. In 2025, meanwhile, the pace is expected to slow to just over 1% growth. Across key sectors, manufacturing construction will see a 10% increase in 2024, while institutional construction will see mid-single-digit gains over the next two years.
