Golden Gate Bridge finally installs anti-suicide nets after years of delay

Construction of the lingering suicide prevention upgrades is wrapping up on the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. The project's long road to culmination was covered by the New York Times recently as contractors work to finish installing the netting system, which was more than 80% in place as of September. Dodge Momentum Index posts 1% increase for October, driven by commercial sector gains

Archinect

The data just released in the Dodge Momentum Index (DMI) reporting for the month of October indicate a 1.0% increase to 181.7 over September’s revised total of 180.3. The increase was propelled by a 2.0% rise in the commercial component, while the institutional component dropped by 1.4%. Year over year, the DMI came in 8% lower than in October of 2022.

David Chipperfield's Elbtower project halts construction over payment dispute in Hamburg

Reuters is reporting that construction on the forthcoming 64-story Elbtower Tower project in Hamburg, Germany, from David Chipperfield Architects has been halted over a payment dispute between its client Signa and a local builder. The news came last week after more than two years of construction. Work was halted at exactly 100 meters (or 330 feet), which is under half the 245-meter (803-foot) anticipated height of the design for which Chipperfield won the 2018 international competition.
