Named 'The Center,' the scheme comprises a central kitchen, culinary arts education center, and an urban farm , all designed to provide 30,000 fresh-cooked meals each day to 77 schools across Oakland. Production has begun on a 3D printed tower in Switzerland, which is expected to be the tallest structure of its kind in the world. Named the ‘Tor Alva’ or ‘White Tower,’ the project is currently being fabricated at ETH Zurich , where the first eight columns of the tower’s lower floor commenced 3D printing in February. Reinventing Cities, C40’s global design competition for urban design professionals, has launched with a group of 15 new participating communities for its fourth edition. The group includes Almere, Bilbao, Bologna, Brussels, Glasgow, Milan, New York, Palermo, Renca, Rome, San Antonio, San Francisco, São Paulo, Seattle, and Venice.
