Schematicdesign is the first stage of an architectural design project, and within this phase there are important milestones to get right that will greatly leverage the project’s results throughout the rest of its impending design phases. So what exactly is schematicdesign ? In short order, schematicdesign is the initial design phase in any project. The first time I get to put pen (or pencil) to paper is during the schematicdesign process. testing the fit between the owner’s needs, wants, and budget.
