MAD "cracks open" facade of Denver residential building

Named One River North, the residential block in Denver's northern RiNo neighbourhood was designed as a nod to geographic formations in the nearby Rocky Mountains. MAD Architects wanted the reference to natural rock formations to appear to be imposing itself on an otherwise typical residential facade.

Local architecture studio Hewitt has unveiled the 33-storey-high Skyglass residential block in downtown Seattle , which was informed by an offset stack of magazines. The tower rises from a brick-clad base "I looked at the profile and stopped seeing a lot of floorplates twisting but just saw a basic shift," said Nagele. "I
