Whenever an architect sits down with a new client on a new residential project, the first thing that happens is a conversation about project goals and requirements. As we are talking, I would ask questions and draw diagrams right in front of the clients to make sure we were on the same page. It was way better.

In this sketch, I’ve rotated the bed 180° so that the head of the bed is opposite the entry and when the occupants are lying in bed, they have a clear view of the door.
