The Terrain materials are maps generated by Gaea, which I then tweaked in Photoshop to get them to the color I needed. I painted a map in Photoshop and applied it as Corona Renderer displacement in 3ds Max. This is a rendering technique that emulates atmospheric conditions caused by dust, humidity, pollution, etc.
