Here’s a useful tool for architects and planners as we enter the new year. The newly released National Zoning Atlas resource covers 30,000 U.S. municipal zoning codes and consolidates several different disciplines, representing the "most complex geocoded legal research project in the United States." The methodology for the atlas was first developed in 2020 by Cornell AAP professor Sara Bronin , who just announced her departure from the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP).

Many of these will be familiar to most who live here but there are likely to be a few buildings that are less so. Local practice Vector Architects has unveiled the Wulingshan Eye Stone Spring spa in Aranya ,China, which was designed to resemble a piece of hot spring "apparatus". Topped with a stack of eight chimney-style lightwells, the spa is located on a river valley site surrounded by cliffs and forest in Wuling Mountain's Yanshi Village, which means Eye Stone and gives the project its name.
