The Cleveland Museum of Natural History celebrated the grand opening of its multiyear $150 million transformation earlier this month. The expanded campus now spans over 375,000 square feet (after adding 58,000 square feet), including 2 acres of outdoor visitor areas, and features reimagined exhibits. Designed by DLR Group , the flowing white architecture seeks to reflect the geological history of Northeast Ohio, echoing the glaciers that shaped the Great Lakes.

Yoshio Taniguchi , the architect of MoMA ’s 2004 redesign and expansion, has died at the age of 87. The New York Times reported the news , along with more details about his journey to the surprise 1997 commission win, following his death from pneumonia on December 16th. Taniguchi was born to a prominent architect father in Tokyo in 1937 and studied at the Harvard GSD before returning to Japan in 1964.

Local practice Vector Architects has unveiled the Wulingshan Eye Stone Spring spa in Aranya ,China, which was designed to resemble a piece of hot spring "apparatus".
