Lebanese architect Lina Ghotmeh is set to design the first new national pavilionin the Giardini della Biennale in Venice , Italy, for 30 years. Commissioned by Qatar Museums chairperson Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Ghotmeh 's design will be the 30th permanent national pavilion in the Giardini della Biennale, which hosts the Venice Architecture Biennale.

French-Brazilian architecture studio Triptyque and So Paolo firm Architects Office have completed AGE360 in Brazil , a residential skyscraper with a load-bearing concrete "exoskeleton". Located in the Mossungu neighbourhood of Curitiba, the 124-metre-tall, 36-storey skyscraper contains 34 apartments alongside wellness facilities and was completed for developer AG7 Realty.

I recently bought a copy of Japanese author Osamus Daizis The Setting Sun. The dust cover had two quotes. One was from Wong Kar-Wai. I like Dazai a lot. It used five words to say what it had to say. The other was from Yukio Mishima. He wrote: What I despise about Dazai is that he exposes precisely those things in myself that I most want to hide. This sentence is simple and honest but its also theatrical, beautiful, artful, brutal, and as such, typical of Mishima.

Dutch studio NEXT Architects has completed Watchtower Einderheide, a bat-friendly wooden lookout in the Netherlands with a curved cut-out that reveals a spiral staircase. Dutch studio OMA has unveiled plans to renovate the Selman Strmasi Stadium in Tirana and transform the surrounding area with tilted, geometric high-rise buildings. OMA will expand the existing football park into a development containing housing , a hotel , offices , shops , bars and restaurants , aiming to connect the Blloku and Komuna e Parisit neighbourhoods on either side of the stadium.

Peter Cook has been attached to a special site-specific pavilion commissioned by the LEGO Group on the grounds of the Serpentine Gallery that will open this summer to coincide with the official celebration of World Play Day in London. His upcoming Play Pavilion design, first announced in late February by the gallery, will be intended for children and take its place alongside Marina Tabassum’s kinetic pavilion shortly after her contribution to the annual summer fete debuts June 6th.

Inflection Architecture adds 700 square feet to a century-old Texas bungalow by tucking a new second story just beyond street view. Janette Linder first bought this Houston, Texas, bungalow 20 years ago, before she and her husband, Fred, got together. "She allowed me to move in," Fred says with a laugh.
