NY Governor Kathy Hochul calls for ban of greenhouse gas emissions in new buildings by 2027

The governor's plan will require that there be zero on-site greenhouse gas emissions from new construction by 2027. This follows a similar New York City bill signed into law in December that bans the use of fossil fuels in new buildings. Hochul’s blueprint would mark the first statewide requirement if passed.
