Notre Dame Cathedral completes spire reconstruction ahead of 2024 reopening

France had previously reversed plans for the restoration’s completion before the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games prior to the death of project overseer General Jean-Louis Georgelin in August. Both outstanding elements are expected to be added later, along with contemporary stained glass windows.

Spanish architecture practice Kauh has completed the renovation of La Hoya Park in the historical centre of Almería, restoring a series of stepped, dry stone terraces on the site of a 13th-century town. For the planting, protected species found on the site were maintained and accompanied by new fruit and mulberry trees.

That was my reaction upon seeing photos of the newly restored Notre-Dame de Paris. After five years of painstaking work following the devastating 2019 fire , the iconic cathedral has reopened, brighter and cleaner than its been in centuries or perhaps than its ever been. What a difference. Some people arent so thrilled. Thats AWESOME.
