In 2005, he even made a guest appearance in an episode of The Simpsons, where, scrunching up a letter inviting him to design a new concert hall for Springfield, he is suddenly struck with inspiration to create one of his characteristically "crumpled" forms. Recent buildings include the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris.

The V&A’s acquisition of the David Bowie Archive and creation of the Centre has been made possible thanks to the David Bowie Estate and a generous donation of £10m from the Blavatnik Family Foundation and Warner Music Group.
